We had post the preview of 2021 drones in Jan,  At that time, it was speculated that the FPV, Mavic3 , 2S (at that time considered Air3 or Air 2+)  and Action 2 with higher possibility of release,  have now been released.

Now, let’s look forward to the new drones in 2022.

Consumer Flagship series

Hubsan XXX

Reliable index: ★★★★☆

*Reliability index: refers to the possibility of the model being released in 2022, the same below.

20211210123003

This new model of Hubsan has been officially announced for a long time, but it has not been released. It is estimated that 2021 will be impossible, and it will not be available until the first half of 2022 at the earliest. We have already analyzed the core parameters: 4/3″ sensor, IMX299, 4.6μm large pixels, 10 million pixels, the size of the aircraft will be relatively large, maybe bigger than EVO II.

Autel EVO III

Reliable index: ★★★★★

20211210123008

When the new Autel EVO III was exposed, the leaked information was expected to be released in November, and now it seems that it will have to wait until 2022. There is no relevant information on the specific time, but it is certain that this product is definitely under development. The thugs guess that the EVO III will be available in 2022, and the hardware parameters should be partially surpassed by the Mavic 3.

As for DJI, it released the Mavic 3 and maintained its flagship lead. It is expected that there will be no new consumer flagship models in 2022. Even if DJI is to release a model like Mavic 3S, it is unlikely to be released in 2022, Unless the competitor has a practical breakthrough in the market that cannot be ignored.

Other drones

DJI Inspire 3

Reliable index: ★★★★★

Inspire 3 project should have been established for a long time, and it may even be established at the same time as Mavic 3. It is guessed that it is currently in the testing stage.

With regard to the performance and parameters of  Inspire 3, little is known at present. There are only fragmentary reports that it will be compatible with X7 lenses. The rumor also said that there will be huge changes to the industry.  A simple empirical guess is that the X9 or X9S gimbal is equipped with a full-frame camera, supports 8K video, and O3+ is definitely also standard, with improved battery life and omnidirectional obstacle avoidance. Perhaps the latest LiDAR laser focusing arrangement will be arranged. The extreme imagination is to move the Ronin 4D set to the drone, but it is obviously impossible.

DJI Mini 3

Reliable index: ★★★★★

The interval between Mini2 and Mini is only one year, so everyone thinks there will be a Mini 3 this year, and even some foreign experts have made a Mini3 according to the Mavic 3 shell.

Fake “Mini3″ by  DJI fans

In fact, DJI did make Mini 3 in 2022, but it is speculated that the development of Mini 3 has been somewhat affected due to the catching-up of friends. Although Hubsan Mini Pro and Autel Nano+ can’t be said to fully win Mini 2, but the core of aerial photography, the camera has already surpassed it.

If DJI wants to maintain its absolute leading position, pure technology decentralization may not work. If Mini 3  uses Air 2’s 1/2″ camera, it is the fact that users must accept that the picture quality is slightly inferior to competing models. Although sensor tuning, flight experience and other factors are also very important, the core The weakness of the parameters will lose some users who are not sensitive to the brand.

So thugs guessed that Mini 3: there will be a better camera than Mini 2, three-direction obstacle avoidance, and there are rumors that it will add a vertical shooting mode to cater to the user like Tiktok.

If you want to upgrade the Mini series, you may encounter a ceiling that 249 g is difficult to break through, but I don’t think manufacturers need to be locked up by this number. What users need is the Mini size, not necessarily lower than 249g. After all, from the actual experience, 249 is just Formal convenience does not bring essential convenience advantages in “safe flight”. If adding a little weight can bring a performance improvement beyond proportional, who wouldn’t want it.

DJI FPV Mini (?)

Reliable index: ★★★★☆

After the release of DJI FPV, Ostia LV made speculations about FPV mini (leak?).

20211210123019

Author recently received a report that DJI is making another FPV. I thought it was FPV 2, but the news said it was smaller than the first generation FPV. I guessed that it might be a ducted FPV.

Before the FPV release, Ostia LV guessed that the DJI FPV was a ducted  FPV

I learned of a drone under development in an official document. According to the speculation, I think it is the FPV series, and the name may be FPV Mini or other.

DJI Air 3

Reliable index: ★★★☆☆

At present, there is no news about Air 3 as I know, and there is no information to confirm the existence of this project. If you analyze it logically, Air 3 can only say that it is possibility but not sure.

At present, only Autel Lite+ can threaten the market position of Air 2S. Although from the short-term experience, I also think that Autel Lite+ is a good product, but after all, it has not been tested by lots of users in the market, and whether Lite+ is cost-effective Enough to attract users to turn is yet to be known. After all, similar scenarios, such as EVO II vs.  Mavic 2 Pro, have been around for more than a year. Objectively speaking, it has not changed the market structure to a large extent.

If the Autel Lite+ market responds well, DJI Air 3 will appear earlier.

ACE series

Reliable index: ★★★★☆

At the end of the year, Hubsan released the “PPT” of the ACE series, and now it seems impossible to sell it in 2021. It is conservatively estimated that it can be sent out in 2022.

_20211210123032

But to be honest, the ACE series is not competitive. The weight and volume are at the level of DJI Air, but there is no advantage in performance parameters compared to its own Mini Pro. The high-end positioning of the one-inch ACR Pro+ is priced at RMB5499 against the DJI Air 2S, and there is no advantage at all.

But if Hubsan can really make all ACEs mass-produced and sold, it will be a big step forward.

For the above models, DJI Mini 3 and Inspire 3 can be proof it is in developing by document in my hand, and there is another model developing but the model is unknown(guess it is FPV Mini) , and DJI Air 3 has no relevant news and no other information.
